About
Art of Adventure revives a classic era of poster design. Our contemporary style is inspired by 20th century travel posters and their artists. This golden age of poster design, with scenes painted by celebrated artists such as James Northfield, Percy Trompf and Brian Cook were created to attract visitors to locations in the UK and around the world.
Art of Adventure was established in Sydney, Australia in 2011 by graphic designer and illustrator Andrew Sharratt. British-born Andrew enjoys travel and his designs reflect that. He studied Graphic Design at Bath Spa University and still loves the South West countryside. He then took time to travel internationally, before settling in Manly Beach, Sydney, Australia. Andrew worked as a freelance designer for many of the world's leading design and advertising companies in Sydney. He also began designing and selling his Art of Adventure prints there. Andrew and Art of Adventure returned to the UK in 2017.
All of the designs are original and designed by Andrew. He draws each picture by hand on his computer to ensure he captures the detail of each place. Andrew uses modern design techniques, but his artwork echoes the nostalgic look of screen-printed, 20th Century travel posters.
Andrew’s design collection includes many global locations and many of his favourite beaches. Besides the travel posters, you’ll find collections of classic cars, animals (Australian and British) and surf iconography. He adds to his collections regularly, keeping the offering fresh and evolving.
